How to make OSB waterproof?
For most manufacturers of decking, the directional strand board commonly known as OSB is not an approved substrate. Some timber merchant’s Sussex will support the installation of coating on this surface, but they are limited. Even if you use a manufacturer-approved system for installation, this type of substrate can have problems over time. The moisture in the OSB penetrates vertically and vertically from top to bottom, rather than spreading horizontally through the material. This will depress certain areas of the substrate and form problem areas, and swelling will occur at the seams and edges. The OSB is made up of many different sawdust wires, which makes it softer and more impressive. The resin used to produce OSB raises questions about the possibility that OSB will emit volatile organic compounds (VOCs) (such as formaldehyde).
